'Adil Khan Faruqi II
(?-1491)
   Faruqi ruler of Khandesh who succeeded his father Mubarak Khan Faruqi in 1456. 'Adil Khan consolidated the Khandesh kingdom by subjugating local chiefs. He founded the town of Burhanpur, which became the capital of his kingdom. Khandesh was invaded by Sultan Mahmud Begarha of Gujarat in 1488-1489, forcing 'Adil Khan to submit and pay tribute. Subsequently, he ruled over Khandesh in peace until 1491.
